Good Betting Habits

value, not controlImage by Will Lion via Flickr
Tip 1
Take A Breather
Spend this time going through your bets and
checking whats working for you and what isn`t .
It may just be a week or two away from betting
but it will be time well spent. Then when you
start agian make sure you dont fall back into
your old habits and to make the most of your
new insights.

Tip 2
Dont Be Greedy
Value never lasts long and if you mess around
looking for bigger and better prices for your horse
then what inevitably happens is you miss out and
end up taking a shorter price than you had wished
for.If you think there is value in your bet...get in
there at the double with your wager!

Tip 3
Never Sulk Over Bad Bets
We have all done it,lost our head in the heat of the
moment and made terrible decisions that have lost
us money. We must quickly dismiss these bets
from our mind, learn from them and move on.
Just dont let it effect your next bet.

Tip 4
Dont Be Too Over Ambitious
Do not expect to be rich from gambling overnight
and be be drinking Pina Colads on some Caribbean
Island in a few short weeks.Beating the bookmaker
takes time and effort. You may make limited progress
to start with but if you keep going and analysing your
betting a fantastic living can be made from this glorious game.
When things do turn round for you and the regular profits
come its definately worth the wait ,believe me!

Tip 5
Stables Second Strings
Excellent bets can be found when a stable jockey has
preferred one horse over another. Most punters will lump
bets on bigtime thinking the jockey has some inside stable
information and the horse is ready to bolt up today.
Jockeys make mistakes just like punters and very often
pick the wrong horse.I have made myself a hefty amount
of cash backing stables second strings at big odds when
on course and so can you.

Tip 6
Follow Stables In Form
When  a stable hit form winners can fly in at massive prices.
They usually come in and out of form in short bursts ,so keep
your eye open for stables hitting 30% winners or more over
the last ten days. One method I use frequently is to spot trainers
who win the first race on the card and follow the rest of their
runners for the day blindly.I have backed winners up to 66/1
doing this and had many many across the card doubles
and trebles etc.
