Fiscal Treaty - Why I'm voting "NO"
The government wants to put another nail in the coffin of workers and social welfare recipients in the form of The Fiscal Treaty. A yes vote will mean years of austerity for the workers and less well off in our society. The EU, ECB and IMF want to completely control us, if they don't already. They want workers wages and Social Welfare cuts up to 40%. The government said they didn't cut basic social welfare in the budget last time, they are waiting for this yes vote to make severe cuts. They don't even need a yes vote from Ireland to ratify the treaty ( 12 countries will suffice ).
The government and well-off want a yes vote to cover their wages and sod the rest. The government will maintain that a yes vote will stabilise the Euro and Euro-zone and stop countries from falling into severe debt in the future. If the government can write off the banks debts why can't the ECB and IMF write off the countries debt? Ratification of the EU fiscal stability treaty would represent an insurance policy against future mismanagement of the country's finances, Taoiseach Enda Kenny claimed today. He said a Yes vote would also provide "a guarantee that no government of the future will ever again run riot either with the people’s fortunes or with the people’s money."
One of the country's biggest trade unions (Mandate) will tell its members to vote no in the stability treaty referendum, it has decided. "The fiscal treaty, if passed, will not create one job," Mr Douglas warned. "On the contrary it will legally lock down Irish economic activity at its current levels, and may even shrink domestic demand further leading to mass unemployment, decades of emigration and sow the seeds for future social conflict.
Its time for our government to stand up to the EU,ECB and IMF and have some backbone. If we don't get a substantial write down of debt and an end to these austerity cuts ( its the 21st century not the 17th ) you can expect a NO vote. We can return to the Punt and use Quantitative Easing ( print money ) and Pension Funds to back it up until the country returns to stability. Its up to the people of this country to make a change and bring an end to Party Politics that have plagued this country since the foundation of the State. We need a government of competent people who don't have to hire Advisers on massive incomes to tell them what to do. If we don't take this opportunity to change then nothing will change. The very definition of madness is not to change anything and expect a different result.
So I'm asking the people of Ireland to stand up and be counted if not for their sakes then the next generations. Lets get our country back.
