All Ireland Hurling Final

Hi,

Today is a big day in the Gaelic calender with the All Ireland Hurling Final at Croke Park at 3.30pm.
Both teams are closely matched which is reflected in the bookies odds having Cork as slight favourites at 10/11 and Clare at 6/5. Being such a tight match a generous 10/1 for a draw may be of value.

Who would have guessed that for the first time since 2005, the tiger stripes of Kilkenny would be conspicuous by their absence on All-Ireland final day? Clare have not being in an All Ireland Final since 2002 but under Davy Fitzgerald and with a team of talented young hurlers, there is a strong feeling that glory may return to the Banner County.
Cork last final was in 2006 and are aiming for their 31st Senior All Ireland Title. This will be the 48th championship clash between both teams and Cork have won 33, Clare 11 with 4 draws.

Cork v Clare

2013 - Munster - Cork 0-23 - Clare 0-15
2008 - QF - Cork 2-19 - Clare 2-17
2007 - Munster - Cork 1-18 - Clare 1-11
2006 - SF - Cork 0-20 - Clare 0-14
2005- SF - Cork 0-16 - Clare 0-15

As can be seen from the last 5 top clashes, Cork have the slightest of edges over Clare, but in a Final anything can happen. Clare have yet to name their team, but Davy Fitzgerald is likely to keep faith with the same XV that overcame Limerick in their semi-final.
